PSB Strategies for BBC and/or ITV according to OFCOM
1 Introduction
Nowadays many changes have taken place considerably in every industry over recent years and it will continue to do so. Due to the easy access to digital television and the internet people in the world hold more unprecedented choice than ever before. The public today considered the digital channels as the most important source for different media interests. According to the Final report of OFCOM the digital Channels in television provided the most convenient ways for access to news or information they wanted at first time in everyday. As well as the internet also very named by young people who mainly obtain information from it. As a result the society becomes more and more diverse for people. The customers could choose one of the information access way including television internet and Broadcasting[1]. As the increasing view of television and user of internet the audiences of PSB service show the trend of reduce. Thus it suggests that the Public Service Broadcasting should correspondingly bring to changes. BBC and ITV are the main two Public Service Broadcasting channels in UK[2] which are now facing the strong challenge to accept these changes and maintain their impacts on society and Public service broadcasting industry. This paper are mainly aim to give the PSB strategies for BBC and/or ITV as outlined by OFCOM. It is hope that the BBC and ITV could meet the future requirement of PSB industry and provide the most effective performances in the services of Publice broadcasting.
